About the artist

Sophie Ullrich’s paintings show wide, often empty spaces, in which at times comic-like stylized figures, or influences from Pop Art can be found.
Often the protagonists are reduced to outlines and form the connection between narration, abstract elements and schematic backgrounds. Surreal long limbs and often missing heads of the figures, create humorous impulses in the sceneries.
Her visual language had already started to develop during her studies and has since enabled the artist to fill her works with a wide variety of themes.
