Opening: March 13, 2021

The French artist Sabine Meier, who studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, shows a type of photography that can be classified as conceptual. Her striking stagings, that can sometimes seem absurd although they are pictured as perfect and coherent, are reminiscent of theater scenes. Her extremely precise, enigmatic narrative moments, her unlikely spaces, built from scratch in the studio, distorting perspective and logic, draw the viewer into a mental space.

In the exhibition “Metamorphosis and Aporias”, which can be seen at the Rupert Pfab Gallery from Saturday 13.3.21, the artist shows two new series and also a large construction that was build to make some of her photographs.

Currently, works by Sabine Meier can also be seen in the exhibition “Peintres Femmes – Naissance d’un combat” at the Musée du Luxembourg in Paris.
